Recovering one drive, one time? Annual is the honest answer. Lifetime is for people who expect to need this again — or who look after other people's machines.

Before you buy

Questions worth answering first

What exactly does paying unlock?

One thing: writing recovered files back to disk. Scanning a drive, previewing every recoverable file with its real filename, and the Drive Integrity & Capacity Test are free forever and need no account. You confirm your files are really there before you spend anything.

What does “2 machines” mean in practice?

An Annual licence activates on two computers — say a laptop and a desktop. Reinstalling on the same machine doesn't consume an activation, and neither does replacing a machine; email us and we'll reset it. Lifetime has no machine limit.

Why is Lifetime almost three times Annual?

Because it's priced against three years of Annual, and most people who need recovery software need it more than once. It also includes every future update, unlimited machines, and session save/load. If you're recovering one drive one time, Annual is the honest choice.

Can I get a refund?

Yes — 30 days, no questions asked. Email support@cinderdatarecovery.com with the address you paid with. We'd rather refund you than have you feel stuck with software that didn't recover what you needed.

Does the licence expire if I stop paying?

An Annual licence stops receiving updates after a year, and recovery stops unlocking until you renew. A Lifetime licence never expires. Neither one ever deletes or locks files you already recovered — those are yours.

Do I need an account or an internet connection?

No. Your key activates offline inside the app — no activation server is contacted. We create an account with your email at checkout purely so you can look your key up again if you lose the email.

Still deciding? Download free and scan the drive first. If your files aren't recoverable, you'll find out at no cost — and we'd rather you knew that than bought hoping. See also what Deep Scan can't reach.
